This case report evaluates the management of bimaxillary dentoalveolar protrusion in a female patient with a Class I malocclusion with Pre-adjusted Edgewise bracket system. The case required extraction of 1st premolars for correction of the proclined and forwardly placed upper and lower front teeth. Clinical and cephalometric evaluation revealed skeletal Class I malocclusion with anterior proclination and a convex facial profile, an average to vertical growth pattern, potentially incompetent lips, a posterior divergent face, increased overjet and average overbite. Following fixed orthodontic treatment by removal of 1st premolars in the upper and lower arch with retraction of anterior segment, a marked improvement in patient's smile, facial profile and occlusion was achieved and there was a remarkable increase in the patient's confidence and quality of life. The profile changes and treatment results were demonstrated with proper case selection and good patient cooperation with fixed appliance therapy.

The case required extraction of maxillary 1st premolars for correction of the proclined and forwardly placed upper front teeth and was corrected with Pre-adjusted Edgewise bracket system. Clinical and cephalometric evaluation revealed skeletal Class II malocclusion with maxillary anterior proclination and an orthognathic facial profile, an average to vertical growth pattern, potentially incompetent lips, an increased overjet and overbite. Following fixed orthodontic treatment by removal of 1st premolars in the upper arch with retraction of anterior segment, a marked improvement in patient's smile, facial profile and occlusion was achieved and there was a remarkable increase in the patient's confidence and quality of life. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection might induce a significant and sustained lymphopenia, increasing the risk of developing opportunistic infections. We present our clinical experience with two cases of opportunistic infections with mucormycosis and actinomycosis leading to maxillary osteomyelitis in patients associated with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus in post-covid-19 status. One out of two cases had received steroid therapy during the treatment of COVID-19. Both the cases have a history of tooth extraction, following which they developed swelling over cheeks associated with nasal and intra-oral purulent discharge. On CT face, both the cases showed similar features of fungal osteomyelitis. But, when an incisional biopsy was performed, the first case revealed large, non-septate hyphae with 90° branching suggesting mucormycosis, whereas the second case showed inflammatory lesions suggestive of actinomycosis. Both the patients were later managed with oral antibiotics and planned for surgery. These cases highlight coronavirus might impair the immune response, exposing patients to a higher risk of developing opportunistic infections and hence the knowledge about the involvement of a wide spectrum of opportunistic microbes helps the surgeon in planning the surgery ranging from a more aggressive approach for fungal infections to less invasive management for bacterial infections.

Enhancement of aesthetics of anterior teeth is one of the challenges of the dentist. Patient may present with teeth which may be discolored, fractured, malaligned or open space between the teeth. These open spacing or malalignment of teeth are due tooth material and jaw size discrepancy. These are usually corrected by orthodontic treatment, as it is the most natural means of correcting the spacing in dentition. The patient in this case presented with a Class Ii malocclusion and a spaced upper dentition with the presence of a midline diastema. The patient was in her mixed dentition phase and presented with multiple over-retained deciduous teeth. It was recommended to get all retained deciduous teeth extracted and guide eruption of the permanent dentition immediately thereafter. The case ended in a Class I incisor, canine and molar relationship at the end of the treatment, thus delivering a pleasant smile to the patient and addressing all her pre-treatment problems.

Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) material is a modern material attracting interest for use in dentistry. Metal-free restorations are gaining popularity in current dental therapies due to aesthetic concern and PEEK is one among the metal free restorations that has many potential uses in dentistry. Due to its excellent properties, PEEK is gaining importance in oral implantology and prosthodontics. According to existing articles, peek is a viable alternative for dental implants. Due to its excellent mechanical and aesthetic properties, it is non-allergic and has low plaque affinity PEEK can also be used as a framework for removable and fixed dental prosthesis. Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) meets all the demands and has proven its versatility in a very short span of time in recent prosthetic advancements. This review provides a glimpse into recent trending material in the discipline of prosthodontics and its applications.

Following fixed orthodontic treatment by removal of all 1st premolars and with retraction of anterior segment, a marked improvement in patient's smile, facial profile and occlusion was achieved and there was a remarkable increase in the patient's confidence and quality of life. The profile changes and treatment results were demonstrated with proper case selection and good patient cooperation with fixed appliance therapy.

This case report is of a 16 year old female patient who presented with crowded upper and lower front teeth with an unaesthetic and non-consonant smile arc .This case was corrected merely by employing simple mechanics with the help of Fixed Orthodontic Mechanotherapy. Following fixed orthodontic treatment, marked improvement in patient's smile and facial profile were achieved and there was a remarkable increase in the patient's confidence and quality of life. The profile changes and treatment results were demonstrated with proper case selection and good patient cooperation with fixed appliance therapy. The patient was extremely satisfied with the results and there was significant improvement in her smile at the end of the treatment.

Odontomas are hamartomatous malformation of odontogenic origin in which both epithelial and mesenchymal cells exhibit complete differentiation into enamel, dentin & cementum which are displayed in an unusual pattern. They are morphologically categorized into complex and compound forms. They usually cause interfere in the eruption of teeth and are diagnosed in routine radiographs. The purpose of this article is to report and discuss about an unusual case of complex odontome associated with maxillary incisor in a 4-year-old male child. The odontomas were removed along with the impacted incisor and on the basis of clinical and histopathological examination, a diagnosis of complex odontome was made.
