: Type-2 diabetes mellitus is one of the chronic diseases that continues to increase in prevalence, including in Indonesia, with a projection of reaching 10 million sufferers by 2030. The management of diabetes mellitus requires a holistic approach that involves the patient's active role in their self-care. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the role of nurses as educators and the self-care of type-2 diabetes mellitus patients at Royal Prima Hospital Medan. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 522 patients with diabetes mellitus who were registered at the Internal Medicine Poly of Royal Prima Hospital Medan. The sample was 85 respondents, and the purposive sampling technique was used based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria set. Data were collected through questionnaires that measured patients' self-care knowledge and behavior and analyzed using the Chi-Square test to assess the relationship between nurse roles and self-care. The analysis results showed a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between the role of nurses as educators and the quality of patient self-care. These findings show that effective education by nurses contributes positively to the understanding and application of self-care by patients. This research is expected to provide deeper insights into the importance of the role of nurses in the management of type-2 diabetes mellitus and provide recommendations to improve the quality of nursing services, and optimize patient care in hospitals.

Self-concept refers to an individual's perception of their identity, abilities, academic achievements, and personal goals. This study examines the self-concept of first-year and fourth-year BSc nursing students, focusing on the differences and growth experienced throughout their academic journey. The objectives were to assess the self-concept levels of both groups and compare the results. The study involved 50 nursing students selected through a simple random sampling technique (lottery method). The data collection tool included two sections: one for demographic variables (7 items) and another comprising 15 multiple-choice questions to evaluate self-concept knowledge. The findings revealed that 90% of fourth-year students had adequate knowledge of self-concept, whereas 63.33% of first-year students scored similarly. Overall, the fourth-year students demonstrated a significantly higher level of self-concept compared to their first-year counterparts, indicating growth and development in their self-awareness and confidence over the course of their studies.

Social media is a tool that is becoming quite popular these days because of its user-friendly features. It includes platforms like face book, Instagram, twitter. Billions of people around the world use social media to share information and make connections. The number of internet users worldwide in 2018 is 4.021 billion, up 7% year-on-year. The number of social media users worldwide in 2018 is 3.196 billion, up 13% year-on-year. A descriptive study was conducted using non experimental research design. Sample in the study were adults students fulfilling the inclusion criteria at the selected settings. Data was collected by tool using 58 questionnaires covering the area, i.e., modified buss perry aggression questionnaire (3-point rating scale) to assess aggression among adults and self -structured questionnaire to assess the impact of social media among adults (3-point rating scale). Majority of the Adults i.e., 40 (66.66%) had moderate aggression, 10 (16.66%) had severe aggression, whereas only 10 (16.66%) had no aggression. Majority of the adults i.e., 39 (65%) had moderately used social media, 12 (20%) had severely used social media whereas 9(15%) had mildly used social media. This study highlights the significant relationship between social media use and aggression among adults in selected colleges in Bangalore. The findings indicate that increased exposure to aggressive content and interactions on social media platforms can contribute to heightened aggressive behaviors in individuals. Furthermore, factors such as frequency of use, type of interactions, and demographic variables play crucial roles in moderating this impact.

Background of Study: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or disease (PCOS/PCOD), originally described in 1935 by Stein and Leventhal, is a complex, heterogeneous disorder of uncertain etiology, with a large degree can be classified as a genetic disease. It is thought to be the most frequent endocrine problem of women in reproductive age. In India nearly 40% of the women are affected by polycystic ovarian syndrome or disease (PCOD). But among then only 60% come to hospital for treatment, when they recognize that they have got infertility. Method: Evaluative approach is adopted to study as its aim is to test hypothesis that establishes relationship between polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and reduction in conditions. Pilot study was conducted with six samples in selected college to refine methodology and to find feasibility of study. Result: There was significant improvement in the knowledge of students following the administration of structured teaching program on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Conclusion: The present study attempted to assess knowledge regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome. The study findings showed that the post test score was higher than the pre-test score and was concluded that structure teaching program on polycystic ovarian syndrome was effective.

This study evaluated radiation protection practices in fluoroscopy at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura, Jammu and Kashmir. A descriptive cross-sectional design involved observing 47 patients and medical professionals during radiological procedures in the gastroenterology and radiology departments. Data were collected using a chart table, focusing on the use of radiation protection apparel and devices. Results showed that 50% of patients were aged 26-35, with an equal gender ratio. Thyroid shields were used by 56.7% and gonad shields by 36.7% of patients. Among radiation technologists, 75% were aged 30-40 and all used lead aprons and thyroid shields. Radiologists were evenly split by age and gender, with all using lead gloves, thyroid shields, collimators, and filters. The findings indicate that SKIMS staff exhibit strong knowledge and adherence to radiation protection guidelines, providing adequate safety measures for patients and themselves.

This study aimed to assess the knowledge and practices related to the prevention of anemia among adolescent girls at a selected nursing college in Bengaluru. Anemia, a significant public health concern, especially for adolescent girls, can lead to serious health issues. The study objectives included evaluating the level of knowledge about anemia prevention, understanding the practical measures adopted, and analyzing the association between these factors and various demographic variables. A descriptive research design was used, and data were collected from 50 participants through a structured questionnaire. The results indicated that 70% of the participants had an adequate understanding of anemia prevention, while 14% had moderate knowledge, and 16% demonstrated inadequate knowledge. In terms of practical application, only 8% of the participants practiced good preventive measures, with 46% showing moderate practices and 46% displaying poor practices. Statistical analysis revealed significant associations between knowledge levels and certain demographic factors, such as type of family and dietary habits, while no significant relationship was observed between practical measures and socio-demographic factors. The findings underscore the need for improved education and practical interventions to enhance anemia prevention practices among adolescent girls.

The study titled "A Study to Assess Neuro Nurses’ Knowledge about Risk Factors and Warning Signs of Stroke in Selected Hospitals of Bengaluru" was conducted with the primary objective of assessing the knowledge level of neuro nurses regarding stroke risk factors and warning signs. Stroke is a significant cause of hospital admissions globally, and the need for early identification of risk factors and symptoms is crucial for timely intervention. Objectives: The study aimed to assess the neuro nurses' knowledge of stroke risk factors, warning signs, and the relationship between knowledge and selected demographic variables. Methodology: A descriptive survey was conducted among 50 neuro nurses working in the Neuro Medical and Surgical wards and ICUs of People Tree Hospital, Bengaluru, using a standardized questionnaire. The sample was selected through convenient sampling, and the data collection spanned from August to November 2022. The Stanford Stroke Center Questionnaire was employed to assess knowledge. The study included both male and female staff nurses with varying educational qualifications and experience. Results: The findings indicated that nurses had more knowledge about the warning signs of stroke (90.4%) than risk factors (78.4%). There was no significant correlation between nurses' knowledge and their demographic variables, including age, gender, and professional qualifications. The study concluded that while neuro nurses possessed above-average knowledge, there is still a need for regular in-service training to enhance their understanding of stroke risk factors and improve patient care outcomes.

Anaemia is the commonest nutritional deficiency disorder in the world. Anaemia is easily treatable and largely preventable disease if timely detected and conducted the structured teaching programme the collected 60 samples and assess the effectiveness of beetroot juice with jaggery on iron deficiency anaemia shows in post-test. Post-test revealed the improvement in Hb level with the use of beetroot juice with jaggery. Out of 60 samples 10(15%) were having normal haemoglobin level and 20(35%) were having mild iron deficiency anaemia and 10(40%) were having moderate iron deficiency anaemia and 10(10%) were having severe anaemia. Date were collected using pretest and post-test and analysed the data using of Chi-square test and T test of significance. A value of P<0.005 was considered significant.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity (ADHD) is a prevalent neurobehavioral disorder affecting children's social, academic, and emotional development, with rising global incidence among children. This study assessed ADHD knowledge among 30 primary school teachers. A Quantitative approach-non-experimental univariate descriptive design was adapted to assess ADHD knowledge among 30 primary school teachers. Data was collected via Google Forms, with oral consent obtained from the principal. Convenient sampling was employed for participant selection. Using a structured questionnaire, the results showed that 90% of teachers had inadequate knowledge about ADHD, with no teachers demonstrating adequate understanding. The study found a correlation between teaching experience and ADHD knowledge but no significant relationship with other demographic factors. Data were collected via a Google Form, and statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS software. The study highlights that while teachers generally have a positive attitude, misconceptions about ADHD may hinder early diagnosis and intervention, emphasizing the need for increased training and awareness.

The focus on undergraduate students is particularly important because this stage represents a critical period of transition. Undergraduate education is where students move from structured learning environments of high school to more independent learning settings. They are often faced with increased academic pressures, new social dynamics, and greater personal responsibility. In this context, their academic achievement can be influenced by a wide array of factors, from their inherent intellectual abilities and learning styles to external elements like the quality of teaching, peer relationships, and socioeconomic status. A study to determine the variables influencing academic achievement of undergraduate students in the selected Nursing College, Bengaluru Descriptive approach was used to collect data from 60 subjects selected by simple Random sampling technique consisting 2 sections. Students between 18-20 years are 0.004 times less likely to score 76% and below compared to their counterparts. Male students were 0.005 times less likely to score 76% and below compared to female students. Overall findings of the study clearly showed that the above results revealed that certain demographic variables like age and gender were significant and age and gender had a positive correlation between the variables and female students were more likely to score 76% than male students.

Most of the global stroke burden occurs in low- and lower-middle-income countries. The most common obstacles families face when caring for stroke patients appear to cause various tensions between patients and their families. This study examines family members' experiences of caring for patients after a stroke. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive phenomenological design. The research participants were 11 participants using purposive sampling techniques. Data were analyzed using NVivo 12 qualitative data analysis software, and interview results were analyzed using thematic analysis. This study identified five phenomena related to the experience of caring for patients after stroke: fulfillment of patient's daily activities, patient treatment, participant psychological response, participant support, and barriers to patient care. Most participants had a less pleasant experience caring for patients after a stroke. This is reflected in sad reactions, angry reactions, the need for help and support from the government, health workers, and other family members, and barriers to patient care. It is important to ensure good coordination between health services and patients and their families, as patients and participants do not have access to health services due to distance and physical disability.

The increase in chronic diseases is reported to be the most common cause of death worldwide. This disease usually persists for a long period of time and duration with slow progression. The impact of chronic diseases is not only related to the socio-economic conditions of the patient, but also the family as the main caregiver for the patient. Families with low socio-economic status are vulnerable to chronic diseases due to high costs of care, job changes and decreased income, these conditions ultimately cause caregiver burden in families. This study aims to analyze socio-economic factors with the incidence of caregiver burden in families with chronic diseases. A cross sectional study was conducted among 120 family caregivers of patient with chronic illness purposively selected in Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia. Data were gathered between June-November 2023 using Google form. 4 questionnare were performed. Descriptive statistic were used to summarize the data in frequencies and percentage. Linear regression analysis were used to examine correlations among variables. The majority of respondents were female (73.3%) with a patient care span of >1 year (55%), 53.3% reported having health insurance. The results of simultaneous regression analysis obtained significant data on the influence of the two independent variables in the form of social support and economic status on the incidence of caregiver burden (p value <0.05) with an R2 value of 75%. These results indicate that good social support and socioeconomic status can help reduce the burden of care on the family.
