Geophysical investigations to determine the most probable sites for hydrocarbon prospects in lower Sokoto Basin was carried out using the total magnetic field values that were obtained by digitizing the contour maps of the basin, which was used to produce the composite map of the area. The lower Sokoto Basin is situated between latitudes 10o.50″ N to 11o .50″ N and longitude 4o″ E to 5o″E. Spectral depth analysis were carried out on the residual magnetic map to study the subsurface geological features of the basin. The results of the spectral studies indicate an increase in sedimentation southwards with several depressions on the basement rock. Two prominent magnetization layers of depths varying from 0.589 km to 1.249 km and 2.506 km to 3.174 km were observed. The highest sedimentary thickness of 3.2 km encountered using spectral depth analysis is in the vicinities of Konkoso (sheet no: 117). These areas, where higher sedimentary thicknesses are encountered in this study, are the most probable sites for prospect of hydrocarbon accumulation in the area.

There is no doubt that unstable and erratic supply of electricity to support human endeavor in Nigeria has been a topic of dialogues over decades. Also distribution company only distribute energy at their own discretion without considering whether it is useful to end users or not. Several alternative salutations have been proposed to solve the problems arise from discretional supply of power to end users. This research work devised the design and implementation of the 1.5KVA Power Inverter to store the supply from the distribution company. This work designs and delivers electrical power supply that takes it source from a battery converting the zero variation signal of the generated DC voltage to a standard 240v AC sinusoidal voltage. The output of this research work will consists of an oscillator which inverts the DC signal to AC, a transformer that amplifies the voltage, MOSFETs which amplifies the current, relay for automatic switching and a charging back system to recharge the battery whenever there is an alternative mains (PHCN or generator).

Prolonged wait times in hospital emergency rooms is a growing concern for many, because of its many effects such as, overcrowding, patients leaving out of frustration without receiving medical attention, patients’ and their relatives’ irrational behaviors, as well as stress on both staff and patients. The main goal of this paper is to research the various methods used to reduce prolonged wait time; methods which range from staff increase, to reviewing of processes, and to opening of alternative care centers. Though there are many methods, but one method that has reduced time spent in hospitals by patients is the application of medical informatics. Hence, it is anticipated that medical informatics will similarly reduce wait times in ERs. Therefore, this review will analyze the various methods currently being used for reducing wait times and align it with medical informatics solutions. Discussions are along the lines of: focus of previous research, the methodologies used for these research, findings and gaps in the research. According to literature search, the dominant areas in medical informatics research are electronic medical records (EMRs) and personal health records (PHRs). Another less dominant area of research is management of wait time using medical informatics. This review may assist in identifying future directions for research on prolonged wait time reduction and medical informatics.

A group G is called radicable if for each element x of G and for each positive integer n there exists an element y of G such that x=yn. A group G is reduced if it has no non-trivial radicable subgroups. Let the hyper-((locally nilpotent) or finte) group G=AB be the product of two periodic hyper-(abelian or finite) subgroups A and B. Then the following hold: (i) G is periodic. (ii) If the Sylow p-subgroups of A and B are Chernikov (respectively: finite, trivial), then the p-component of every abelian normal section of G is Chernikov (respectively: finite, trivial).

Fraud was cited as Nigeria’s biggest problem both in the public and private sector. It is worrisome to note that bank staffs connive with outsiders to perpetrate fraud, even the emergence of ICT recently makes it easy to perpetrate fraud and it was also established that fraud contributed immensely to failure of most banks. Fraud is not peculiar either in magnitude or sophistication to Nigeria, the crash in the multinational companies in the wake of fraud and accounting scandals attests to this fact. Banks nonetheless played a dubious role in the collapse of these corporations. Structured questionnaire was prepared to get the opinions of both workers and bank customers using all the banking industry in Nigeria. This paper endeavors to examine Information Communication Technology, Bank Verification Number and Fraud Prevention in the Banking industry in Nigeria, their responses were critically analyzed and the study concluded that the introduction of Bank Verification Number with the aid of Information communication technology (ICT) is an effective tool that will reduce the incidence of fraud to the barest minimum in Nigeria, the use of ICT should also be encouraged but with strict security and thus the financial institutions and their business partner must continue to seek and develop new solutions to the issue of customer authentication and transaction validation.

Adhesives have become an inseparable part of our modern styled life where it is used in every aspect, field and industry. Adhesive have become the core of many industries. This paper aims to discuss the history, definition, working mechanism of adhesives and also to mention part of the literature available about adhesives like adhesives types, classes and the manufacturing process. Part of this paper is about experimenting samples of adhesives and materials. The results of the experiments proved that using the appropriate type of adhesive with the material in question results in far greater bonding strength than using inappropriate type of adhesive.
